Cashier/Deli Associate (Weekends)

We are seeking a friendly and dependable Cashier / Deli Team Member to join our team. This position combines front-end cashier duties with deli food preparation. The ideal candidate enjoys working with customers, stays organized in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing excellent service. Responsibilities Retail Cashier Duties:

Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner Operate cash register and process transactions accurately Provide excellent customer service Stock merchandise as needed Maintain a clean and organized front-end area

Deli Team Member Duties:

Prepare, slice, wrap, price, and merchandise deli products Make sandwiches, salads, and hot meals Take counter and phone orders and complete them promptly Prep ingredients and supplies for the next day Maintain clean, organized work areas Follow all health code, food safety, and labeling standards Qualifications Reliable and punctual Friendly with strong communication and customer service skills Positive, team-oriented attitude Basic math and computer skills Able to lift 10-20 lbs regularly; up to 50 lbs occasionally Able to stand for extended periods Comfortable working with cleaning agents Retail, cashier, deli, or food prep experience preferred (training provided) Must be 16+ years old (VT requirement to sell alcohol & tobacco) Hickok & River is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
