Job Purpose:

Serves as a staff member at SPiN Cafe, a day center for homeless and low-income individuals.

Duties:

• Duties include serving food and beverages to guests, monitoring outside activities, and janitorial duties.
• Learn clients' names and sign them in daily as well as check out restroom keys.
• Applicant must be able to multi-task and be self-driven.
• We use google docs and sheets -- applicant must be proficient in those applications or be willing to learn. Good record keeping is essential to this work.
• Applicants should be friendly and treat others with dignity and respect while maintaining clear personal boundaries.
• Clean restrooms, common areas, as needed and at the end of closing shift.
• Must be able to learn and be proficient in cleaning dishes and kitchen at the end of closing shift.

Must be able to handle a crisis calmly and be able to contact authorities or supervisor promptly. Confidentiality must be a top priority.

Hours:

We are open 6:30 am to 5:00 pm 7 days a week. Hours vary but must be able to work weekend mornings (6:00 am.) There are approx. 20 hours available right now. Opportunity to work extra hours filling in for other staff.

Skills/Qualifications:

Communicate with guests in a cheerful manner Be able to multi-task effectively Be able to lift 30 lb's Bend, kneel and clean No allergies to bleach or cleaning products Be able to stand for long periods of time Must pass a background check Must acquire a food worker's card within 14 days Applicant must provide three references not related including contact information.
