WHO WE ARE
Pasture and Plenty is a diverse local food business that includes a James Beard-nominated restaurant, market and catering business, and a "Whole Diet" delivery and pick-up meal kit service. We serve high-quality, locally-sourced and prepared daily menus, frozen, ready-to-eat meals, cook kits and pantry items to individuals and families who are hungry for high-quality, healthy meals, but starved for time. Since launching in 2017, we have expanded our work to include P&P Makeshop, a shared food manufacturing kitchen, and are opening P&P Foodworks Processing Kitchen and Food Manufactory in July 2026. P&P Foodworks expansion will provide us expanded manufacturing capacity, to produce Pasture and Plenty and co-packed products for other local entrepreneurs. Foodworks collaborates with a larger project called Foodshed, a collaboration between several organizations connecting small farms with large buyers. P&P will process produce for the Foodshed project.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Foodworks Food Processing Team Member works with the Kitchen Processing Manager and Production Chef to produce minimally processed food products for P&P and community partner food projects utilizing local ingredients that highlight and promote the bounty of SW Wisconsin. The Foodworks Food Processing Team Member supports the day-to-day operations of the Foodworks production kitchen team, including processing raw vegetables and fruits, packaging minimally processed ingredients and food products, managing inventory, labeling finished products while maintaining a positive working environment and producing high quality food in line with Pasture and Plenty's high standards of quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Support the Kitchen Production Chef to efficiently execute the weekly food processing goals Complete / review production sheets with manager and help manage the daily production plan Track recipe yields and standards for portion sizing to help manage cost of goods Maintain daily and weekly production logs and communicate with the Kitchen Manager needs for labels and packaging Manage the glassware and sustainable packaging cycle.
Help maintain sanitation standards and compliance with food processing rules and regulations Food product labeling and inventory management Performs other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Food manufacturing or high volume food production experience preferred Farm experience a plus Maintain communication via email, phone and in person, as needed Wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with the standards of safety and appearance Knowledge of how to safely operate all equipment required for position, and be able to train others to safely operate equipment Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies as set forth by the business, including, but not limited to, those contained in the associate handbook Must have aptitude and interest to learn the tenets of food service management and quality food production Must enjoy people and possess the ability to work well with all age groups Must have a current sanitation certificate or earn certificate upon hiring Must be able to make decisions and to solve problems, supported by manager Capable of moving and lifting up to 50 pounds
POSSIBLE WORK HAZARDS TO BE AWARE OF
1. May be exposed to dangerous equipment such as slicers, choppers, fryers, etc. 2. Potential accidents include burns, cuts, slips, falls, scalds, and exposure to cleaning chemicals 3. Work areas include walk-in freezers and coolers 4. Work includes pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, walking, bending, cutting, slicing, operating industrial food processing equipment, etc.
WORK SCHEDULE 8
00am-4pm Normal work week is Monday - Friday, special circumstances may require weekend hours
SALARY AND BENEFITS
