This role is responsible for executing established roast profiles, maintaining coffee quality standards, conducting routine cuppings, tracking inventory, and supporting coffee production operations. The ideal candidate possesses a strong appreciation for specialty coffee, understands roasting fundamentals, and is committed to consistency, accuracy, and craftsmanship. This position is focused on maintaining and executing Reborn Coffee's established roasting program rather than developing coffee strategy. Strategic decisions regarding coffee sourcing, blend development, menu direction, and overall coffee program initiatives are managed by company leadership. Responsibilities Coffee Roasting Roast coffee according to established roast profiles and production schedules. Maintain consistency and quality across all production batches. Monitor roast performance and make minor adjustments to maintain target flavor profiles. Record roast data and maintain accurate production logs. Ensure all coffee meets company quality standards before release. Coffee Quality & Cupping Conduct routine cuppings of production coffees. Monitor flavor consistency, roast development, and overall cup quality. Identify and report quality concerns or deviations from established standards. Maintain cupping records and quality control documentation. Participate in sample evaluations and quality assessments as requested. Inventory & Production Management Monitor green coffee and roasted coffee inventory levels. Maintain accurate inventory records. Track coffee usage, production output, and inventory movement. Assist with forecasting production needs based on company demand. Coordinate with Operations and Supply Chain teams regarding inventory requirements. Market Awareness & Reporting Stay informed on coffee industry trends and market developments. Communicate relevant observations and insights to leadership for review and consideration. Support coffee-related projects and initiatives as assigned. Equipment & Production Maintenance Maintain roasting equipment cleanliness and organization. Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks. Report equipment issues promptly. Ensure roasting and production areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with company standards. Compliance & Documentation Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements. Adhere to company SOPs and quality standards. Maintain production records, inventory documentation, and quality control logs. Role Scope This position is responsible for executing and maintaining Reborn Coffee's established roasting program. The Production Roaster does not have independent authority over: Coffee sourcing decisions Green coffee purchasing Blend development Product formulation Coffee program strategy These functions are directed by company leadership. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure consistency, quality, and execution of the established coffee program. Qualifications Previous coffee roasting experience preferred. Understanding of coffee roasting fundamentals and roast development. Experience with coffee cupping and sensory evaluation preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency. Ability to follow established procedures and quality standards. Experience with inventory management and production tracking preferred. Ability to lift and move coffee bags and production materials.
