Tasting Room Associate

Essential Duties:
The following reflects essential functions for this role but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned:
  • Share the incredible story of the Mauritson family and the evolving legacy of farming to winemaking. Create a memorable, quality guest experience.
  • Utilize strategic selling skills to encourage sales and new wine club membership
  • Acquire and share wine knowledge effectively and accurately to guests
  • Create and maintain a customer-oriented environment focused on building customer relationships and loyalty
  • Act as a wine ambassador on and off premise
  • Communicate with comfort, clarity and consistency, both verbally and in writing
  • Evening and weekend event assistance
  • Flexibility in working weekends and holidays is required
  • Complete other assignments and special projects as assigned Qualifications
  • Prior hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
  • Wine knowledge ranging from the wine industry to production and farming. Or willing to attain that knowledge
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, as well as keeping busy during slower periods
  • Flexibility with work weekends, events (including evenings), and some holidays
  • Professional, self-motivated, organized and efficient with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, small team environment
  • Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity and positive outlook
  • Excellent customer service skills along with being a fast learner of new systems
  • Goal oriented and sales driven
  • Professional appearance, demeanor, and enthusiasm
  • Proficiency in Point of Sales (POS) systems and basic computer skills preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Completed required state certifications preferred. Otherwise, to be completed upon hiring Physical requirements
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in changing weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Requires the ability to sit bend, stoop, twist and walk over uneven surfaces for prolonged periods of time Company Overview The Mauritson family has been growing grapes in the Dry Creek Valley since 1868 when their great-great-great grandfather first planted vines in what is now the Rockpile region.
The family continues to farm exceptional vineyards in Rockpile, Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley, and throughout the North Coast. Clay Mauritson, one of the sixth generation of his family, started the winery in 1998 with the support of the family. Today, the winery produces boutique wines, using only select vineyards that truly exhibit a sense of place.
