Cellar Master

Winery Lodi, CA Apply Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our winemaking team. The ideal candidate will be able to:- Oversee all cellar operations
- Execute winemaking protocols under the direction of the Winemaker
- Supervise, train, and schedule cellar staff
- Ensure accurate timekeeping, meal and rest period compliance, and proper documentation for all non-exempt employees
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations,
- Enforce strict sanitation and food safety standards
- Monitor fermentation and wine conditions
- Maintain accurate and compliant production records
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of chemicals and additives
- Manage bulk wine inventory and ensure traceability in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and safe operation of all cellar equipment
- Lead harvest operations, including staffing, safety training, and compliance oversight
- Support audits and inspections by regulatory agencies as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Enology, Viticulture, Food Science, or related field (preferred)
- 3+ years of winery or cellar experience, including supervisory responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of winemaking processes, cellar equipment, and production systems
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work extended hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, particularly during harvest Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
- Ability to work in wet, noisy, and temperature-variable environments
