Cellar Master Nineteen22
Winery Lodi, CA Apply Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our winemaking team. The ideal candidate will be able to:
  • Oversee all cellar operations
  • Execute winemaking protocols under the direction of the Winemaker
  • Supervise, train, and schedule cellar staff
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping, meal and rest period compliance, and proper documentation for all non-exempt employees
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations,
  • Enforce strict sanitation and food safety standards
  • Monitor fermentation and wine conditions
  • Maintain accurate and compliant production records
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of chemicals and additives
  • Manage bulk wine inventory and ensure traceability in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and safe operation of all cellar equipment
  • Lead harvest operations, including staffing, safety training, and compliance oversight
  • Support audits and inspections by regulatory agencies as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Enology, Viticulture, Food Science, or related field (preferred)
  • 3+ years of winery or cellar experience, including supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of winemaking processes, cellar equipment, and production systems
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work extended hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, particularly during harvest Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
  • Ability to work in wet, noisy, and temperature-variable environments

The salary range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential and can fluctuate above or below the posted range. If there is an offer, the salary presented will consider several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, and training. Base pay is just one piece of the compensation package offered by Nineteen22 Winery.
