Wheeler Farms Saint Helena, CA Apply Job Description:
Wheeler Farms is a newly constructed, state-of-the-art custom crush facility designed in such a way that employees can execute technical and precise winemaking practices with ease resulting in a more fluid, efficient, and calm work environment. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are interested in working at a high-tech facility making ultra-premium wines. At Wheeler Farms, our main focus is to provide support to our client winemakers, and to give the utmost care to all wine made in our facility. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Grape receival and processing Cleaning of crush equipment and tanks Fermentation monitoring Additions Monitoring automated pump overs Keeping cellar/barrel rooms clean and organized Barrel filling Pressing Sensory analysis Making great wine! The position is scheduled to start at the beginning of August and run through the end of November. The applicant needs to be comfortable working autonomously, and in groups. They should have a genuine desire to learn more about making wine at an ultra-premium level. They need to be prepared to work long hours in wet conditions throughout harvest. They need to be prepared to work in a fast-paced (although calm and collected) work environment. Previous cellar/harvest experience is preferred. All applicants must be 18 years of age, have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs, and must be available to work 7 days/week during the peak of harvest.
