This is a hands-on, physically demanding roasting position focused on large-scale coffee production on our Loring S-70 Peregrine roaster. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys fast-paced production environments, takes pride in consistency and attention to detail, and has an interest in coffee roasting or the specialty coffee industry. You do not need years of roasting experience to apply, but prior production/manufacturing experience, mechanical aptitude, or genuine interest in roasting coffee is strongly preferred. This position will train directly under our current head roaster before transitioning into an independent mid-shift roasting role. Schedule Monday - Friday Typical start time around 3:00 PM Typical end time between 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM depending on production needs Full-time position Minimum 32 hours/week (insurance available at 32+ hours) Pay Starting at $20/hour 90-day performance evaluations with opportunity for pay increases based on performance and growth Responsibilities Operate and monitor our Loring S-70 Peregrine production roaster Follow roast profiles and maintain roast consistency Record and maintain accurate production documentation including batch logs and Agtron readings Move and handle roasted coffee throughout production Assist with green coffee organization and movement Maintain cleanliness and organization of roasting and production areas Help cover roasting shifts during vacations or scheduling needs Occasionally assist with production-related projects as needed Qualifications Prior roasting experience preferred, but not required Production/manufacturing experience is a plus Forklift or pallet jack experience preferred Comfortable using Google Sheets and production logs Strong attention to detail and consistency Able to work independently once trained Adaptable and dependable in a fast-paced environment Interest in coffee roasting or specialty coffee is a major plus Physical Requirements This is an active and physically demanding production role.

Candidates should be comfortable with:

Repetitive lifting and movement throughout shifts Frequently lifting and moving up to 40 lb containers of coffee Assisting with movement of large green coffee bags (up to 150 lbs.) using proper lifting equipment Working in hot, loud, and fast-paced production environments Standing and moving for extended periods of time Why Ampersand?
