Grain Procurement Advisor 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars 1010 W Bridge Street, Blackfoot, ID 83221 Full-time Great Western Malting 16 reviews Full-time SUMMARY Reporting to the Director of Grain North America, the Grain Clerk is responsible for processing and printing settlements for all grain purchased, keeping record of the freight for grain intake and transfers, preparing invoices for processing and reconciling rail freight accounts. The Grain Clerk also provides support to all US sites regarding procedural and Microsoft AX inquiries. Communicating with producers in the fields about seeding, harvesting, samples and pricing. Helping to make sure our sustainability goals are achieved and audits are completed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Help manage inbound shipments to Pocatello malt plant (Order in Cars). Enter inbound shipments into system as needed. Grade grain as needed. Settle all shipments from suppliers to Pocatello and ensure settlements are processed in a timely manner. Send all grain invoices to Finance with appropriate GL Coding and backup information. Maintain and reconcile rail freight accounts- printing all freight invoices, matching grain freight invoices to BOL's and handing over for processing once ready. Administer all freight disputes, both barley and malt. Complete and maintain spreadsheets for costs v. accruals for rail freight. Understand the specifications and analysis of barely to ensure that system calculations are correct. Contracting barley with growers Monitor growing season for plant health and weather events Work with Pocatello plant to manage a stable inventory level of the right varieties Work with growers to have the right varieties grown to meet our brewing customer demands On Farm Sustainability with growers and auditors Work with breeders, suppliers and growers to develop new varieties By Products marketing
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
High School Diploma with 3-5 Years of administrative experience, preferably within agriculture. Basic understanding of accounts payable is a plus. Agricultural experience is considered an asset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel). Ability to work under pressure and multi-task Organizational skills. Good technical skills with accounting/finance platforms; familiarity with Microsoft AX is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Standard working hours with the ability to be flexible given time zone differences. Must be able to remain in a stationary position or stand for prolonged periods of time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery. Personal Protective Equipment is required of all employees when on manufacturing and distribution sites. Must be comfortable working in an open office environment with cubicle seating.
