Job Description

Overview Join our Yooper brewing team as a part-time Brewery Assistant and become a vital part of crafting exceptional craft beers! This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment where quality, safety, and teamwork are at the forefront. As a Brewery Assistant, you will support daily brewing operations, maintain cleanliness standards, and ensure food safety compliance, all while gaining hands-on experience in the craft beer industry. Responsibilities Assist with the brewing process by preparing ingredients, monitoring fermentation, and ensuring proper procedures are followed Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all brewing equipment, tanks, and work areas in accordance with food & beverage CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) standards Perform basic cellar work activities that may include fasse-ing, product sampling and lab testing, harvesting/pitching yeast, monitoring/adjusting fermentation temperatures, and monitoring/adjusting tank pressures Support packaging operations including setup and teardown of packaging lines, palletizing finished product, and organizing products for shipment Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts safely to move raw materials and finished goods within the facility Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify mechanical issues or sanitation concerns Follow company Standard Operating Procedures diligently to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations Assist in inventory management by organizing ingredients, supplies, and packaging materials in the warehouse Adhere to OSHA and other company-required safety regulations as necessary; handle all chemicals in a safe manner per established Standard Operating Procedures Requirements Prior experience or knowledge in brewing or craft beer production is highly desirable Strong understanding of sanitation procedures and food safety standards Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues Experience working in manufacturing environments or food industry settings is a plus Experience operating forklift equipment safely. On-site certification training may be available Familiarity with packaging processes and warehouse operations enhances your fit for this role Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards Ability to lift objects weighing up to 56.5 lbs and carry objects of this weight up to 100 feet Ability to push/pull weights up to 50 lbs and maintain the grip strength required to adjust valves, containers, and hose nozzles Ability to climb stairs, stoop crawl, twist, squat, and reach overhead Requires frequent standing and walking This role offers an engaging environment where your skills contribute directly to creating outstanding U.P. craft beers.
