Job Title:
1st Shift Packaging Associate Job Description This role involves working on a fast-paced food packaging production line, accurately weighing and portioning food items, and packaging them into individual dishes. You will handle a variety of products, including meats, pastas, rice, and vegetables, while maintaining consistent quality and following all food safety and hygiene standards. The position requires standing for the entire shift and performing highly repetitive tasks in a cold food production environment. Responsibilities Work on a food packaging production line to prepare and package ready-to-serve dishes. Weigh out food portions for each serving according to established standards and specifications. Fill each dish with the correct food items of the day, including various meats, pastas, rice, and vegetables. Perform visual inspections of products and packaging to ensure quality, accuracy, and presentation standards. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements while handling and packaging food. Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift. Stand for the entire shift and perform the same packaging and inspection tasks repetitively. Lift up to 55 pounds as needed, including shoveling vegetables or noodles into a hopper for a portion of the shift. Adhere to all production floor rules regarding attire, personal protective equipment, and safety procedures. Work overtime hours as needed to meet production demands. Essential Skills Ability to stand for the entire shift in a fast-paced production environment. Ability to work in a cold environment ranging from approximately 34 to 53 degrees. Capability to lift up to 55 pounds safely and repeatedly as required. Comfort performing highly repetitive tasks for the full duration of the shift. Attention to detail for accurate weighing, portioning, and visual inspection of food products. Reliability in following food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards. Willingness and availability to work overtime hours as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in packaging, visual inspection, or general labor in a production or manufacturing setting is beneficial. Experience in food production or food handling is an advantage. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Strong work ethic and consistent attendance. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a food production environment that maintains a cold temperature of approximately 52-53 degrees on the production floor, with the weigh pack and cold room at about 34 degrees. The role requires standing for the entire shift and working around food processing and packaging equipment. You must wear a hair net and smock or lab coat at all times on the production floor. If you have a beard, you must wear a beard cover. Jewelry, including wedding rings, visible piercings, and fake nails, is not allowed on the production floor to ensure food safety and product integrity.
