We enjoy traveling, the outdoors, and the flavorful ciders inspired by these adventures. We enjoy trying new things, new challenges, and solving problems. Saro is looking for an individual to be a part of daily procedures to maintain the production of quality hard cider. You will be heavily involved in flavor development, fermentation science, blending, and packaging cans and kegs. We are seeking a Cider Maker to help us continue to create ciders without added sugar or preservatives inspired by a sense of adventure. This is physical job required standing for much of the day and involving cleaning and heavy lifting. The best applicants will be creative, detail oriented, with a 'time-to-lean, time-to-clean' attitude. We want someone to have integrity to stand by good work, to be intentional about the cidermaking process, to be adaptable to the inevitable changes we face every day, and communicate effectively about all aspects of the required responsibilities. Daily Adventures & Responsibilities Participate directly in cidermaking process including fermenting, racking, kegging, bottling, canning, and cleaning Work to explore flavor combinations as we blend fruits, herbs, and more to create layered ciders Operate, maintain, and clean equipment in both small test batch sizes and full commercial batches Utilize writing and math skills to accurately maintain detailed records about production, cleaning, and maintenance processes Manage ingredient inventory levels to ensure ability to produce scheduled batches Maintain safety and health standards for self and co-workers Learn and utilize software to track production and inventory use Attend training opportunities as they arise or are necessary Occasional participation in the community at tastings and sampling events Qualifications Ideal candidates applying for Saro share a passion for adventures of any size and can translate this into the crafting of flavorful cider One year or more of experience in alcohol manufacturing and production, ideally in the cider/wine industry, will be given extra attention Comfortability with technology, including document management systems on PC or tablet, and proficiency with basic Excel functions Positive attitude and excellent communication skills as we continue to grow Adaptable to change and ability to problem solve Able to regularly lift 50lbs and occasionally lift 75 lbs Ability to frequently bend, stoop, push, lift, kneel, and reach, sometimes repetitively, while standing most of the day Willing to acquire the appropriate certificates and attend trainings as they arise, such as forklift training, alcohol service permits, etc. The applicant must be 21+ A current drivers' license
