Job Description

Assistant Winemaker
Stokelan Winery Medford, NJ Apply Job Description:
Stokelan is looking for a detail oriented assistant winemaker to join our team and report to the head winemaker. The role involves hands on work in the cellar, an understanding of wine chemistry and a high level of attention to detail. For background, we are a quality focussed, family owned, award winning boutique winery in New Jersey - not far from Philadelphia.
Responsibilities will include:
Cellar Operations:
Execute all daily cellar activities, including fruit processing, racking, transfers, barrel regimes and bottling. To aid with sensory analysis and blending wines.
Lab and Quality Control:
Perform routine chemical analysis and maintain detailed records.
Sanitation Management:
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and cleanliness protocols throughout the winery.
Inventory and Supplies:
Monitor all cellar inventories, and help with ensuring supplies are to hand when required.
Requirements:
2-3 years prior winery experience. Relevant educational qualifications be they degree or wine specific qualifications Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly, climb tanks, work in varied temperatures and stand for extended periods during peak harvest hours. Ability to operate machinery and drive larger vehicles (non-CDL) Effective communicator
