Who we are: Aurora Vineyards is a small Willamette Valley producer focused on high quality Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot noir and Sparkling wine. We have 32 acres of vines planted to 9 varieties and supplement our estate offering with fruit sourced from Oregon and Washington. We are expecting an early and high-quality harvest. Position duties:- Preparation and maintenance of all harvest equipment
- Fruit sampling and maturity tracking
- Cleaning and sanitation of equipment and facilities
- Basic laboratory analysis such as pH, TA, brix
- Fruit handling and processing
- Fermentation management and monitoring
- Tasting
- Wine transfers and movements
- Additions to juice and to fermentations
- Forklift driving
Minimum Qualifications:
- Be 18 years of age and be legally able to work in the US
- Be capable of lifting and moving 50lbs
- Ability and willingness to work flexible and extended hours in a variety of conditions
- A passion for learning about wine
- Great attention to detail
- Reliable transport to and from work
- Respect for others
- A good sense of humor
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 prior harvest or more
- Forklift experience or certification
- Some Spanish language
- Formal education in Wine such as a certificate, degree or WSET diploma
- Experience making sparkling wine
- Prior laboratory experience
- A good taste in music Working conditions and Physical requirements: This position involves prolonged exposure to a range of weather conditions, loud noises, toxic and hazardous chemicals, and working near potentially dangerous machinery.
