This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, values precision and consistency, and is passionate about crafting exceptional beer. As part of the Väsen team, you'll be brewing beers in our core lineup along with seasonal offerings and mixed-culture projects from our foeders and barrel program. As a small team, our brewers participate fully in all aspects of your production so weekly tasks/schedules will vary. • Execute all brewing operations: milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpooling, and wort cooling
• Perform all brewery tasks according to SOPs and/or guidance from Head Brewer
• Keep detailed and accurate production records, including batch logs and QC data
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Communicate effectively with the brewing and operations team Cellar and Fermentation Management
• Manage fermentation: monitoring fermentation metrics, dry hopping, fruiting, etc.
• Perform CIP and sanitation on fermentation vessels, brite tanks and other equipment
• Transfer and condition beer with consistency and cleanliness
• Carbonate and condition beer to style specifications Packaging
• Help ensure brite beer quality measures with daily QC checks
• Participate in weekly packaging runs (kegging and canning) with some weeks heavy in packaging
• Assist in preparation and breakdown on packaging days. Miscellaceous
• Participate in sensory evaluations to help maintain brand consistency
• Help maintain brewery equipment and instruments
• Assist in brewery maintenance and improvement efforts
• Assist operations coordinator in packing weekly distribution orders
• Represent Väsen during public tours, beer festivals, and events (occasional)
• Perform all other job responsibilities defined by your manager Qualifications
• 1-3+ years of commercial brewing experience
• Strong knowledge of brewing processes, fermentation, and sanitation practices
• Formal brewing education or certification is a plus
• Canning line operation experience is a plus
• Strong problem-solving ability with mechanical aptitude
• Strong work ethic and self-driven
• Passion for craft beer, innovation, and quality
• Ability to lift 55 lbs regularly and maneuver 165 lb kegs
• Ability to work in hot/cold and wet environments
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Flexible availability-shift hours vary between 6am-9pm on brew days
