Job Description

Treat every individual with respect and facilitate a safe and welcoming environment for all employees and customersBe responsible and self-driven, conducting oneself with dignity, self respect, and motivationBe an ambassador for Single Hill, and act as a steward for the brewing communityKEY RESPONSIBILITIESBartending/Serving including, but not limited to Accurately handle routine purchasing transactions, including operating cash register, POS, opening/closing duties, and updating guest information.
Work with and contribute to the team behind the bar/on the floorPrepare and serve Commons food offeringsClearing and cleaning tablesTake responsibility for beer, wine, and food service quality including presentation, storage and glassware standardsEnsure the entrance, sidewalks, and floors are clean, organized, and ready to open for business.
Check temperature, lighting, music, cleanliness, and overall guest experience throughout the shiftConduct fun and informative tastingsEducate guests on beer and brewing techniquesEducate guests on wine and winemaking informationActively support and assist with beer releases, events and e-commerce salesActively keep informed about new product, events and happeningsAssist with merchandise sales/stocking and inventory tasksAssist with, report, and document, as appropriate, problematic guest situationsMinimize product lossBe willing to assist with any back of the house needsAct as a representative of Single Hill at work and in the community
JOB OVERVIEW
The Commons Associate is responsible for the on-site guest experience, serving guests and assisting coworkers, stocking beer and merchandise, and keeping the place looking great, all with a positive attitude in a fast paced environment. They ensure guests are hosted with excellence and they act as the voice of our guests back to the rest of the team. They embody the welcoming and elevated tone of our Seattle taproom and contribute to the conditions the rest of the Seattle taproom team relies on to deliver outstanding service.GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 21 years of ageMust be willing and able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidaysMust have at least one year of relevant service industry experience, preferably in a beer and/or wine bar, brewery or restaurantMAST and Food Handlers certification required or acquired within 1 month of hireDemonstrated passion and ability to ensure excellent guest experiencesPassionate and knowledgeable about beer and wineInterest for continued beer and wine educationModels and promotes Single Hill culture and valuesDemonstrated positive, motivated, hardworking, and collaborative attitude requiredAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentLive music booking, special event, social media experience a plusOther related experience and/or beer certifications a bonusWORK ENVIRONMENTAble to work flexibly in a taproom space that serves, additionally, as de-facto office spacePrioritizes safety and insists that team members follow safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe work environment for all employeesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
