About us Abolitionist Ale Works is a fast growing microbrewery and restaurant focusing on unique flavors and a fun customer experience. We are looking for experienced back of house representative to add to our growing team for mainly weekend shifts We have a light menu of mostly artisan pizzas, hot sandwiches and a few appetizer items. Our pizza menu is an artisan one, individual sized pizzas and sandwiches cooked fast over high heat with unique ingredients and combinations. The right candidate must be able to prepare, cook and get orders ready for servers in a sometimes very fast paced, high volume environment with many tickets coming in a short time. We have a small kitchen staff, this is not line cooking. So once properly trained you will be working most shifts solo, which means you are managing not only the orders as they come in but all of the space around you (kitchen and dish room)
Job Expectations:
Managing the kitchen space and yourself during your shifts, this includes but is not limited to: Managing your time! This is important, the best manage their time by making sure that you have everything ready before a rush so that you can concentrate on effeciently and accurately completing orders
- Using your time to manage and balance, prep, cleaning and when orders arrive, managing your pace to effeciently work through the tickets. Have your work area set up for sucess. Opening hour

- cooking made to order, additional prep as needed, cleaning and sanitizing your space as well as dish room maintenance (keeping the serving trays moving in and out) Closing
- Full kitchen cleanup, put away and seal all serving trays, bottles etc, sanitizing all surfaces, sweeping and mopping and closing dishwasher work Most importantly the right candidate must be punctual and consistently work their shifts without calling out or arriving late.
Previous kitchen experience is preferred & health code and standard food safety procedure knowledge is required. Serv Safe Certification is Preferred Pay is somewhat negotiable based on experience and availability and reliability. Accelerated raise schedule. Our cooks make hourly pay + commission on all food sold in house during your shift! Our cooks typically make between $15
- 20 an hour when commission is included. The busier the shift, the more cash received. Commission is paid in cash daily on top of your base hourly wage which starts at $15 an hour Our shifts are currently Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday
- 3-9PM with closing Friday/Saturday
- either 11AM-5PM or 4PM-9PM with closing typically or an overlapping shift (2-10, 11-7) Sundays 11:00AM-8PM with closing At this time we are looking for someone with flexible weekend availability who can pick up 3-5 shifts weekly between Tuesday-Sunday and be on call for shifts that may come available last minute week to week.
Part time has room to grow into a full time position and we also will cross train for front of house shifts for the right candidate with experience. We can do a mixed schedule of front of house and back of house shifts for the right candidate with experience in both and willingness to perform a mix of both roles
