JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for supervising Mutuel Tellers and supporting the daily operation of mutuel wagering activities to ensure efficient, accurate, and guest-focused wagering operations during live racing events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises and supports Mutuel Tellers during live racing operations to ensure efficient and accurate wagering transactions. Provides leadership and direction to seasonal mutuel staff while promoting a positive, team-oriented work environment. Assists with staffing assignments, break schedules, and workstation coverage to maintain operational efficiency. Ensures tellers provide outstanding guest service through fast, friendly, and professional interactions. Assists with opening and closing procedures, including verifying teller banks, balancing cash drawers, and reconciling discrepancies. Monitors wagering operations to ensure compliance with company policies, racing regulations, and internal controls. Assists with troubleshooting wagering equipment issues and coordinates resolution as appropriate. Responds to guest concerns and resolves issues within the scope of authority while escalating concerns as needed. Conducts coaching and provides real-time feedback to team members regarding performance, service standards, and operational expectations. Collaborates with Mutuel leadership and other departments to ensure smooth racing operations and guest experience. Maintains accurate records and communicates operational concerns, staffing needs, and other relevant information to leadership. Performs Teller duties as needed based on operational requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned. #colonialdownsracetrack
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to provide exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent cash handling and reconciliation skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure. Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a fast-paced operational environment. Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn wagering systems and related technology.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous cash handling experience required. Previous wagering, gaming, banking, cashiering, or related experience strongly preferred. Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Must obtain and maintain a valid racing license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
The Team Member will be required to sit or stand and remain stationary for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to sit or stand; walk; use hands to finger, reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The Team Member may be required to lift up to 50 pounds. The Team Member may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and varying racing schedules. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The work environment may vary in levels of crowds, noise, flashing lights, and smoke, depending on the assigned station and guest volume. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
