Crystal Bay Casino Soft Count Clerk (1.2026)
OVERVIEW
The soft count clerk assists the Slot Team with early morning drop of the machines. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty described below satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This job is team oriented, highly regulated and under constant observation. Soft Count Clerks must be dependable, able to follow instruction, and respond well to feedback. Clerks must demonstrate superior judgment, be responsible and be able to deal with others in a considerate, positive manner. This position requires attention to detail and involves repetitive actions and clerks must be able to lift up to 50lbs without restrictions. There are long periods of standing, regular bending and stooping are required. Soft count clerks process large volumes of cash and slot tickets. It is a casino environment exposed to bright lights, noise, changing temperatures and smoke. Wages depend on experience and longevity.
EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Good communications (reading/writing/speaking) in English Good basic Math skills Basic knowledge of ten key Basic computer skills and cash handling Experience in count rooms is a plus but not required. Position is entry level, so additional training will be provided
EDUCATION
High school education or equivalent preferred Experience can be substituted for Education
ADDITIONAL TRAINING TO BE PROVIDED
Initial & continued training, as appropriate Problem Gaming Training - Title 31 Customer Service Essentials
GAMING REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 21 or older Must hold and maintain a License from the Nevada Gaming Control Board Fingerprinting and background check required for License, fees apply for this service Soft Count Clerks must always follow all NV Gaming Regulations and Reporting.
SCHEDULES
Work location is in Crystal Bay, NV at Lake Tahoe. Position is Part Time Clerks must be able to work daily, 5:45am or 8:30am, until the work is done (Avg. 10 am to 2 pm) Holidays and Weekends are required, as is working the 1st day of each month Time off request must be submitting in writing via email to the slot count supervisor and copied to the controller. Not all requests can/will be granted. Soft Count directly affects casino operations, so casino blackout dates apply Every effort is made to maintain a set schedule, however there will be times you will be given a different schedule based on the needs of the team and the facility, when this happens you will be notified with as much advance notice as possible. Schedule changes must be approved by the slot count supervisor, trading shifts without prior approval from management will be documented as an improper call-off. Calling off less than 4 hours before a scheduled shift will be documented as improper Call off. Calling off or arriving late more than 5 times in a 12-month period is subject to disciplinary action. When reporting late arrival or calling off for a shift you must notify the slot count supervisor AND the MOD, as this position directly affects casino operations. Crystal Bay Casino
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
(Includes, but is not limited to the following) Clerks remove boxes from gaming machines/tables Clerks remove slot tickets and cash from boxes, sort and count using provided currency count machines, bundle and strap as appropriate Once sorted, strapped and bundled the cash and tickets must be recorded on a worksheet and uploaded to the gaming reporting system then $ must be turned over to cage personnel to be placed in the vault Clerks must enter data accurately into computers and have the ability to retrieve data when needed Clerks must balance all money/tickets and all paperwork must be signed and dated In the event a counterfeit bill is found, clerks must notify the MOD immediately so the

Form can be completed and reporting to SSA can be done timely. Clerks must maintain count room security according to security protocols at all times Clerks must ensure all boxes are fully emptied and that they are clearly shown to the camaras Clerks must ensure that all boxes once removed from the machine during drop are taken immediately to the vault cart and never put down anywhere else during drop Clerks must maintain a clean work area is required and daily, weekly, monthly cleaning schedules provided by management must be followed. Clerks must be able to follow instruction, and respond well to feedback Clerks must be able to adapt to change in a positive manner and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected deadlines Clerks must have the ability to understand and comply with state, federal, company and departmental rules and regulations Clerks must adhere to all guidelines and policies established in the Employee Handbook Should Clerks decide to end their employment, a courtesy two-week notice is requested Clerks perform other job duties when assigned by management
