Merkin Vineyards Hilltop Winery & Trattoria features a full menu of freshly made breads, pastas, entrees, salads and wood-oven pizzas, along with finely crafted Arizona wines, select beers and cocktails. Also onsite is the greenhouse and bottle shop and retail space. The Host/Hostess is responsible for welcoming and engaging guests, and ensuring that they are seated. Their duties include maintaining a well-stocked and organized retail area, maintaining a waitlist of patrons during busy meal service, passing out menus, accepting phone calls, completing accurate money transactions and accuracy of the cash register.

Experience :

Two years or more of experience as hostess in the food and beverage industry is preferred.

Compensation:

$15.15-16.00 per hour

Days/Hours :

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Experience hostessing or similar. Greets customers as they walk into the restaurant, helps with reservations, and guides them to their table. Adds guests to the Waitlist and gives them approximate wait time estimates. Provides guests with menus and answers any initial questions they may have. Optimizes seating at different tables to ensure an even workload for wait staff. Answers phones and schedules reservations with large parties. Cleans the store and ensure products are properly displayed before the store opens. Including, shelves, counters, and tables. Organizes merchandise on shelves and restocks them when they become empty. Recommends, selects, and helps locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires. Advises customers concerning particular products or services and answers questions regarding the store and its merchandise. Executes routine inventory counts and submits reports to the Store Manager. Completes other store administrative tasks as directed by the Store Manager. Upsells to customers through recommendations. Maintains knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices. Able to accurately handle payment transactions.
