Hourly Pay Range:
$21.00- $25.
Schedule:
Part-time; must be available to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and flexible shifts based on business needs About the Position MacCallum House Inn & Restaurant is seeking a warm, professional, and detail-oriented Innkeeper to join our hospitality team in Mendocino. The Innkeeper is based at the main entrance of the MacCallum House Inn and serves as one of the first points of contact for lodging guests, restaurant guests, visitors, vendors, and callers. This role supports daily front office operations, guest check-in and check-out, reservations assistance, guest communication, room assignments, and coordination with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Restaurant, and Management. Because this position is located at the main entrance of the property, the Innkeeper also provides restaurant host support as needed, helping create a smooth and welcoming arrival experience for both inn and dining guests. This is a hands-on guest service position and is not a management or supervisory role. Key Responsibilities Welcome lodging guests, restaurant guests, visitors, vendors, and callers in a warm and professional manner. Assist guests with check-in and check-out using the property management system. Support reservation inquiries, confirmations, modifications, cancellations, guest notes, and pre-arrival communication. Provide information about the inn, restaurant, amenities, local attractions, directions, and area recommendations. Direct guests to rooms, restaurant, bar, event spaces, restrooms, parking areas, or other appropriate locations. Assist the restaurant team with host support as needed, including greeting guests, communicating arrivals, and supporting table flow as directed. Communicate guest needs, room status updates, dining requests, maintenance concerns, and special requests to the appropriate departments. Prepare guest materials, welcome information, keys, folios, and other front desk documents. Process payments, deposits, refunds, and folio adjustments according to company procedures. Maintain accurate guest records and protect guest, employee, financial, and business confidentiality. Follow company policies, safety procedures, timekeeping requirements, meal/rest period expectations, and guest service standards. Escalate guest concerns, billing issues, service recovery needs, safety concerns, or unusual situations to Management. Qualifications Previous hospitality, hotel, inn, restaurant, host, reservations, or guest service experience preferred. Strong guest service skills with a warm, professional, and helpful communication style. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy with reservations, guest notes, billing, and administrative tasks. Ability to remain calm, courteous, and solution-oriented during busy or challenging guest interactions. Comfortable using computers, phones, email, reservation systems, and property management systems. Ability to follow established procedures, checklists, and management direction. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Familiarity with the Mendocino/Fort Bragg area, local attractions, restaurants, and tourism is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods during a shift. Ability to move throughout the property, including indoor and outdoor guest-facing areas. Regular use of computers, phones, office equipment, and repetitive hand motions. Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, push, or pull as needed for guest service, front office, and host support duties. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds. Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and over ambient noise. Work may include busy, fast-paced, or high-pressure guest service periods related to lodging arrivals, restaurant arrivals, and special events.Compensation & Benefits Pay Range:
