POSITION SUMMARY
The Grille Host is responsible for greeting guests, managing seating, answering phones, and helping ensure a smooth flow of service. This position provides friendly customer service, maintains an organized host stand and waiting area, communicates with restaurant staff regarding seating needs, and assists with guest requests to help create a positive dining experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: The following duties represent the core responsibilities of a Host. Other related duties may be assigned consistent with the nature of this role. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs. Responsible to verify all guests who are ordering alcoholic beverages are at least 21 years of age through requesting valid identification. Responsible to make independent judgment when to notify on duty manager if a guest is intoxicated and should no longer be served alcohol. Answers the phone while smiling, with a polite and pleasant voice using professional verbiage. Takes restaurant reservations, maintains waiting list and seating availability in accordance with Creekside Grille standards. Meet, greet, seat, and interact in a positive way with Creekside Grille guests. Keeps work area and podium clean, organized and stocked with necessary tools, and supplies. Always presents a clean and professional appearance. Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times. Attends all pre-shift and departmental meetings. Maintains cleanliness standards in the restaurant, wait stations and kitchen service areas. Performs and completes all opening, closing and running side work, as well as any that is required or deemed necessary by management. Reports to work on time, in full uniform, ready to begin work. Uniform to include proper clothing, OSHA approved shoes, name badge, hair tied back, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years of age or older. Previous restaurant experience preferred. Must obtain a Riverside County Food Handler's Certificate. Must obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. In accordance with the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Company will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities and will engage in a timely, good-faith interactive process as required by law. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods on varied surfaces, including stairs, concrete, grass, and kitchen flooring. The position requires continuous use of the hands, wrists, and arms. The employee must also be able to communicate effectively and perceive auditory and visual cues in a dynamic environment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position involves work in both indoor and outdoor environments where temperatures may fluctuate.
