Host/ Hostess - Sofia Restaurant Meet Sofia Miami Beach, FL Job Details Full-time $20 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Safety protocol adherence ServSafe Fine dining experience Emergency procedures High school diploma or GED Full Job Description The Host / Hostess oversees the Host/Hostess stand to ensure the initial contact with the guests is a positive warm welcome and all staff can provide excellent customer service to set the tone of the guest experience. The Host / Hostess will be responsible for administrative tasks as well as greet, seat, page guests, and answer the phone in a professional manner. The Host/ Hostess will assume the role of tour guide & communicator. What you'll do: Provide a guest experience from when they walk in, including opening doors and greeting guests. Overseas the reception area Always provide a warm welcome and thank guests when they leave. Answer questions accurately and politely via in person, electronic communication or over the phone. Maintain a clean and organized waiting area. Assist guests in making, editing, or moving reservations and always confirm reservations. Direct guests to the sitting area & restrooms. Follow the restaurant's sequence of seating and service. Assist servers, bussers and managers as requested. Perform opening, closing & side duties, including but not limited to cleaning glass, polishing brass, sweeping & vacuuming the floor, wiping menus, restroom maintenance, etc. Engage the guest to ensure complete satisfaction with every guest and communicate issues immediately to management. Supervise table chart, sitting pre-assignment, and meet & greet of our guests. Supervise the Customer Relationship Management of the restaurant, including but not limited to reservation call-back and confirm, follow up "thank you" email execution and management, data collection execution and management, etc. Supervise the phone reservation system of the restaurant, helping in coordinating schedule, handover of duties, data collection & management, etc. Create memorable experiences by observing opportunities and anticipating guests' needs. Assist Office Manager with administrative tasks including scanning/processing restaurant invoices. Communicate with Corporate as needed to ensure vendors are paid according to terms of contract. Assist Management team with administrative tasks as requested including making copies, sending s Employees must always be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees. Perform any additional duties requested by a manager. What we're looking for: Must remain calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere. Demonstrate a high level of organization, attention-to-detail, and a sense-of-urgency. Display a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests and co-workers. I must be able to work all shifts assigned including working nights, weekends & holidays. Follow all company policies and procedures including proper timekeeping and emergency and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
High school or equivalent education required. Minimum (2) years of experience in fine dining establishment Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits must be "SERV Safe Certified" by the State of Florida.
