JOB SUMMARY
: Any special requests pass on to the server. Always let your server know their table has guests and give assigned table number. You are to work hand in hand with your server in the assigned station. You are an important part of the cafe team. At all times the busser must wear spotless uniform, proper grooming and neat hairstyle and look professional. Attend to refilling water, tea, coffee and removing service items. After guest has left it is the responsibility of the busser to clear, clean and set up the table for the next guest according to the standards of the management.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
: 1. Before the start of each meal period all tabletops must be wiped clean with a suitable cleaning solution and all chair cushions should be brushed off. Flatware must be in place along with water glasses. All salt and pepper shakers should be checked for refill and cleanliness. Bussers must be dressed for service before guests enter the cafe. When applicable, guests should be greeted by name. 2. Once dinner guests are seated, pour water and take bread basket, bread and butter plates to the table. Guests who are interest in drinks only should have their table settings and bread and butter plates removed. Inform server of the table number and status. 3. Constantly patrol assigned station refilling water and beverages and bussing each table. 4. Remember to serve all food from the left and remove from the right. All beverages must be served & removed from the right. 5. All trays must be bussed from the cafe floor to dishwashing station. All tray stands must be closed up and positioned inconspicuously out of traffic areas. 6. Observe every guest table and be alert for any guest request. 7. Immediately after guest departs, clear all remaining dishes, clean table of spills and crumbs with damp cloth, check seat cushions for crumbs and spills, reset table. Bring to table on a bussing tray complete table setting as established in training. Inform host/hostess that the table has been serviced and ready for next guest. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must have strong guest service skills. 2. Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language. 3. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 30lbs. 4. Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop and reach. 5. Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time. 6. Must be able to work in crowded spaces. 7. Must be a team player.
