Key Responsibilities Greet and welcome guests warmly to set a positive first impression and create a welcoming atmosphere. Manage reservations and waitlists , including booking, confirming, and adjusting reservations, and providing accurate wait time estimates. Escort guests to tables or waiting areas, ensuring seating preferences and accessibility needs are met. Assign tables to servers fairly to balance workloads and optimize service efficiency. Answer phone calls and guest inquiries regarding menu items, hours, and special requests. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entryway, and waiting areas. Support the team by assisting with light cleaning, bussing, or refilling water during busy periods. Handle guest complaints professionally , ensuring issues are resolved calmly and courteously. Provide menu information and assist new staff or servers as needed, particularly in high-end or busy restaurants. 5 Sources Required Skills and Qualifications Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with guests and staff.
