Job Description
This position will be at our newest location, slated for a Mid-September opening in West Loop! About Kama Bistro Kama Bistro is a modern, upscale Indian bistro offering a unique dining experience with elevated Indian cuisine, craft cocktails, and a curated selection of wines. We are looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Hosts. Job Summary As a Host at Kama Bistro, you will be be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their experience by offering a warm welcome, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating and flow throughout the restaurant. You will work closely with all FOH departments to ensure a seamless flow of service while upholding the restaurant's standards of hospitality. Key Responsibilities Follow steps of service to provide a quality guest dining experience Maintain the reservation book during a shift to ensure the proper flow of service Ensure a professional and friendly communication style with all guests during service, on the phone, or during email communication Consistently check on and communicate menu counts and wait times Maintain an organized and inviting host stand and coat check area Ring all to-go food and beverage items and properly handle payments with 100% accuracy Proactively maintain and update guest notes in the restaurant's reservation software Always follow proper sanitation practices Responsible for completing all opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures in a timely manner Qualifications & Skills Previous host experience in a full-service restaurant preferred, but not required. Willingness to go above and beyond for guests. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Friendly, team-oriented attitude with a passion for hospitality. Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
