Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Restaurant Host/Hostess, where you will be the welcoming face of our establishment, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for every guest. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your hospitality skills, coordinate reservations, and manage guest flow efficiently—all while working in a lively, fast-paced environment that celebrates teamwork and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities Greet guests with a friendly and energetic demeanor, making them feel comfortable and appreciated upon arrival Manage reservations and seating arrangements using POS systems to optimize table turnover and guest flow Answer phone inquiries with professionalism, providing accurate information about the restaurant's offerings and wait times Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service flow and timely seating arrangements Maintain a clean, organized host stand and waiting area, ensuring a positive first impression for all guests Assist with guest inquiries, special requests, and accommodating any accessibility needs to enhance their overall experience Support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously, turning any issues into positive interactions Experience Previous host/hostess experience in a food service or restaurant setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with guests and team members Familiarity with restaurant POS systems is advantageous Experience in customer service roles within restaurant, hotels or other guest-focused environments is a plus Knowledge of phone etiquette and guest relations best practices to ensure professional interactions at all times Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail A genuine passion for hospitality, serving others, and creating memorable guest experiences Qualifications Minimum 1 year of server experience in a full-service restaurant Strong knowledge of food and beverage pairings Massachusetts Food Handler Certification preferred TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certification preferred Proficiency with POS systems; ability to learn quickly Excellent communication skills and attention to detail Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced setting What We Offer $15-$20 hourly pay Growth opportunities within the Black Bamboo team Generous employee dining freebies and discounts and staff meals The chance to join a brand-new concept at the ground floor Paid time-off for full time staff working at least 1 year Join us in delivering outstanding hospitality that makes every guest's visit memorable!
