Hosts are key members of the hospitality team and are often developed into service support or server positions as they grow within the Red Door family. Your Role at Red Door Woodfired Grill At Red Door Woodfired Grill, the Host is the first and last impression of the guest experience. This role sets the tone for genuine hospitality from the moment a guest enters until the moment they leave. As the face of The Best Little Upscale Neighborhood Joint, the Host ensures every guest feels seen, valued, and welcomed—because at Red Door, we don't have customers; we have guests, and our mission is to make memorable moments every day.
YOUR IMPACT AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Warmly greet each guest with enthusiasm, professionalism, and sincerity, ensuring an immediate sense of welcome. Clearly articulate greetings, farewells, and guests' needs with confidence and authenticity. Manage the pace and flow of the dining room with intention—balancing guest satisfaction, server rotation, and operational efficiency. Assign suitable tables based on guest needs, party size, and server availability to support a seamless service flow. Accurately quote wait times, manage reservations, and coordinate seating through the host stand system. Inform guests of current specials, promotions, and upcoming events to enhance their dining experience. Communicate clearly with servers, bartenders, and managers to ensure smooth transitions and consistent service. Open doors for guests entering or exiting as part of creating a polished and gracious experience. Handle cash or gift card transactions related to gift certificates or to-go orders with accuracy and integrity. Support carryout and curbside operations when needed, ensuring a consistent Red Door experience across all guest interactions. Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the host stand, entry area, and dining room, including periodic restroom checks and assistance with table resets as needed. Monitor the overall atmosphere—lighting, music, cleanliness, and energy—to ensure a welcoming and upscale environment. Uphold Red Door brand standards, personal appearance, and the spirit of Leave your troubles at the door.
QUALIFICATIONS
What Success Looks Like Every guest is greeted and acknowledged within moments of arrival. The dining room operates smoothly with a balanced pace and consistent guest flow. Guests are informed and excited about Red Door specials and promotions. Cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently upheld. The host stand operates efficiently with accurate wait times, organized seating, and clear communication. Guests leave with a memorable experience and an authentic farewell that makes them want to return. Qualities that Shine Here Naturally friendly, poised, and professional under pressure. Exceptional communicator with attention to tone and guest presence. Organized and proactive, able to anticipate both guest and team needs. Calm, confident, and composed during high-volume periods. Team-oriented, reliable, and proud to represent the Red Door brand. Required Skills Must be at least 16 years of age. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods. Strong verbal communication and guest interaction skills. Prior restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required—what matters most is a heart for hospitality.
