Host/Hostess

The Hostess/Host is responsible to greet customers as they enter a restaurant, show them to their table, give them a menu and let them know the name of their server. They may also handle phone calls, take reservations, customer queries about the restaurant and menu, and assist various restaurant staff when necessary. They are expected to know all restaurant menus and specials and special events. The hosts are responsible for maintaining the front area of the restaurant and host stand in an orderly and attractive manner.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Greet and seat guests, provide menus, and answer initial questions to ensure a warm and welcoming start to their dining experience. Assign guests to tables while keeping table rotation in mind so servers receive the right number of guests. Answer incoming phone calls promptly, taking reservations and addressing guest inquiries, ensuring calls are answered within three rings. Respond to complaints and help to resolve them as necessary Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, hotel offerings, and amenities to accurately inform and assist guests. Help other restaurant positions as needed. Perform daily and weekly cleaning assignments and maintain the work area in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition to support health, safety, and pest prevention. Ensure all assigned side work is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Must be flexible and available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Other duties as assigned.
