Hostess/host 22 West Main Street, Patchogue, NY 11772 $16.00 - $16.50 an hour - Part-time $16.00 - $16.50 an hour - Part-time Overview We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Host to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. As the first point of contact, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that every guest has an exceptional dining experience. Duties Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, ensuring a warm and inviting atmosphere. Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently to optimize flow and minimize wait times. Provide guests with menus and inform them of daily specials or promotions. Assist in coordinating the dining experience by communicating effectively with kitchen staff and servers. Handle guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism, ensuring satisfaction at all times. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host area, including menus and waiting areas. Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for managing reservations and orders when necessary. Uphold high standards of hospitality, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette when handling reservations or inquiries. Qualifications Previous host/host experience in a restaurant or hotel setting is preferred. Strong background in food service and customer service, showcasing effective communication skills. Familiarity with guest relations practices to enhance the dining experience for all patrons. Experience using POS systems, particularly Aloha POS or Micros POS, is advantageous. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A friendly demeanor with a commitment to providing outstanding hospitality to every guest. Prior experience in serving or other hospitality roles is a plus, enhancing your ability to support the team effectively.
