McKenzie FunZone Action Arena — McKenzie, TN Position Title Party Host Position Summary McKenzie FunZone is looking for an energetic, dependable, and customer-focused Party Host to help create smooth, fun, and memorable birthday parties and private events. The Party Host is the main point of contact for party families during their event and is responsible for helping guests feel welcomed, organized, and taken care of from start to finish. This position is best for someone who enjoys working with kids, can stay calm in busy situations, and understands that parents are paying for an experience, not just playtime. Main ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience Welcome party families and guests as they arrive. Help the birthday child and family feel special. Explain party flow, safety rules, and activity expectations clearly. Keep a positive, friendly, and professional attitude with kids and adults. Check in with parents throughout the party to make sure they have what they need. Party Setup Prepare party area before guests arrive. Set out tables, chairs, plates, napkins, cups, and other party supplies as needed. Help organize food, drinks, decorations, and gifts. Make sure the party space looks clean and ready before the event begins. Party Flow & Organization Keep the party on schedule. Help transition guests between activities such as laser tag, Nerf, Gellyball, axe throwing, Water Wars, or other games. Communicate with arena/game staff so activities run smoothly. Assist with pizza, cake, presents, and cleanup timing. Help manage guest counts and communicate extra players or add-ons to management. Safety & Rule Enforcement Explain and reinforce safety rules for each activity. Watch for unsafe behavior, rough play, disrespect, or poor sportsmanship. Address minor issues quickly and respectfully. Bring serious behavior issues to management immediately. Help create a fun environment while keeping guests safe. Cleaning & Reset Clean party area after each event. Throw away trash, wipe tables, sweep floors, and reset supplies. Help keep bathrooms, lobby, party rooms, and activity areas clean during events. Prepare the space for the next party or business day. Customer Service & Sales Support Answer basic questions about activities, pricing, and future bookings. Direct families to management or the booking page for detailed questions. Encourage guests to return for open play, future parties, field trips, or private events. Represent McKenzie FunZone in a professional and welcoming way. Required Skills Friendly and confident with children and parents. Dependable and on time. Able to stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills. Willing to clean, reset, and help wherever needed. Able to enforce rules respectfully. Team player with a positive attitude. Comfortable standing, walking, bending, lifting light supplies, and staying active during shifts. Water Wars Travel Parties Be willing to travel with McKenzie FunZone staff for off-site Water Wars parties and mobile events. Help load, transport, set up, and tear down Water Wars equipment. Assist with water guns, water balloons, music, games, and event flow. Help supervise games and keep the event organized, safe, and fun. Represent McKenzie FunZone professionally when working at homes, churches, schools, parks, businesses, or community locations. Travel may be required within the approved service area for scheduled Water Wars parties. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children, families, events, customer service, or food service is helpful but not required. CPR/First Aid training is a plus. Weekend availability is strongly preferred. Must be comfortable working around loud music, active kids, and high-energy environments. Schedule Party Hosts are mainly needed during: Fridays Saturdays Sundays Weekday private events when scheduled Special events, school breaks, and holidays as needed Party Hosts may also be scheduled for off-site Water Wars parties. These events may require travel to the customer's location and may include setup, event hosting, cleanup, and return travel time. Hours may vary based on party bookings and private events. Ideal Candidate The ideal Party Host is someone who: Makes families feel welcome. Keeps parties moving without making parents feel rushed. Notices problems before they become big issues. Can be fun with kids but firm when needed. Understands that cleanliness and customer service matter. Takes pride in helping families have a great experience.
