Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Position Summary:

The Technical Host ensures a welcoming and seamless virtual worship experience by managing the Zoom platform, in-house audio, and PowerPoint presentation during weekly services (including equipment setup and teardown).

Principle Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Management a. Ensure the microphone and hearing assist device batteries are charged b. Start-up equipment in the required order (OBS camera app has specific requirements) c. Distribute microphones (according to printed instructions) and hearing assist devices (on request) d. Open the Zoom meeting from the sanctuary and log into it from the community room laptop e. Download and run the service PowerPoint f. Secure all equipment as recommended after the service to prevent damage or theft 2. Livestream (Zoom) Hosting a. Admit participants and monitor the waiting room (names are required) b. Ensure service recording and sound for musicians are ON c. Manage participant experience (muting/video on/off, service participation via chat or live communication) d. Spotlight speakers and manage screen sharing e. Monitor chat and communicate messages, requests and concerns appropriately f. Coordinate with a secondary in-house tech operator during the service when applicable g. Troubleshoot minor Zoom-related issues h. Track and report zoom participants i. Engage with zoom participants as appropriate j. Close and secure the meeting following the service 3. In-Service Sound and Video Equipment Operation a. Monitor audio during the service both in-room and on zoom via headphone (adjust as needed) b. Follow the weekly script for audio and camera settings (joystick) 4. Limited Additional Duties a. Assist with virtual member engagement efforts as required b. Attend occasional team or committee meetings upon need or request c. Provide technical services for occasional movie nights, funerals, weddings and other special events upon request Relation to

Unitarian Universalist Church of Fargo-Moorhead Minimum Qualifications:
