Salary:

$10.00•14.00 an hour + Tips. Restaurant Host / Hostess Summary The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for our guests and plays an important role in creating a welcoming dining experience. This position is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations and waitlists, handling take-out orders, and ensuring the front-of-house area is organized and guest-ready. Excellent communication, hospitality, and customer service skills are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, professional customer service Seat guests according to restaurant procedures and table availability Manage reservations and maintain an organized waitlist to ensure efficient seating Answer phones and assist guests with questions or take-out orders Process take-out and online orders, verify order accuracy at pickup, and handle payments Maintain a clean and organized host stand and front entrance area Ensure tables are clean and properly set before seating guests Assist with clearing and resetting tables when needed Roll silverware as needed to support service operations Clean windows, doors, and wait station areas Monitor and restock the host stand and restrooms when necessary Acknowledge and thank guests as they arrive and leave the restaurant Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all guests Qualifications Previous experience as a host/hostess or in a restaurant setting preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Basic knowledge of restaurant operations and hospitality standards Experience with POS systems (such as Aloha or Micros) is a plus Ability to handle phone calls professionally and assist guest inquiries Friendly attitude with strong attention to detail and organization
