Job Overview Salt + Marrow Kitchen, located within Crowne Plaza North Augusta, is seeking a friendly, professional, and guest-focused Host/Hostess to serve as the first point of contact for our restaurant guests. This individual plays a critical role in creating a positive first impression by greeting guests warmly, managing seating arrangements, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience from arrival to departure. The ideal candidate is personable, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment while maintaining a welcoming and professional demeanor.
Requirements:
Greet guests promptly and professionally upon arrival. Manage the restaurant waitlist and seating chart efficiently. Escort guests to tables and provide menus. Answer incoming phone calls and assist with reservations, restaurant inquiries, and guest requests. Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, managers, and kitchen staff regarding seating flow and guest needs. Monitor dining room capacity and coordinate seating to ensure balanced server sections. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, and waiting areas. Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned. Thank guests as they depart and invite them to return. Support the Food & Beverage team during peak service periods as needed. Address guest concerns professionally and notify management of any issues requiring escalation. Maintain knowledge of restaurant offerings, promotions, hours of operation, and hotel amenities. Qualifications Previous restaurant, hospitality, customer service, or guest-facing experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and guest service focus. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Must be dependable, punctual, and team-oriented. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Skills Experience using restaurant reservation or waitlist systems. Knowledge of food and beverage operations. Ability to handle guest concerns with professionalism and composure. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
