The Impact You'll Make in this Role The part-time staff member will play a key role in enhancing guest experiences by assisting with guest check-ins for reservations, hosting guided tours, providing concierge services, and collaborating with site partners. This role focuses on ensuring that all guests, including VIP and overnight visitors, have a memorable and enjoyable experience at Spekboom Lodge and The Ralston. As a Tours & Hospitality Host, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people in San Antonio. Here, you will make an impact by: Greet and check in guests for reservations related to guided tours, behind-the-scenes experiences, Spekboom Lodge stays and venue operations at The Ralston. Host guests during walking and guided tours, providing insightful information about the zoo, its animals, and conservation efforts. Offer concierge services to VIP and overnight guests, including dining recommendations, zoo information, and handling special requests. Ensure that guests are informed of safety protocols and tour guidelines. Assist with guest inquiries, providing accurate and timely information about zoo exhibits, events, and services. Collaborate with the zoo's guest services and operations team to ensure a seamless guest experience. Maintain a high standard of customer service, addressing guest needs and resolving issues in a professional manner. Help manage reservation schedules, including making adjustments and coordinating with other departments. Assist with setting up or breaking down events or activities as needed. Have a clear understanding of emergency protocols and guidelines. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, the San Antonio Zoo recommends the following skills/qualifications: Strong customer service and communication skills. Experience in hospitality, tourism, or related fields is preferred. Ability to multitask and handle guest requests in a fast-paced environment. Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor. Flexible schedule with availability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed. Knowledge or interest in wildlife, conservation, or zoo operations is a plus.
