First impressions matter, and you'll be ours. As a Host, you're the very first connection our guests make with the restaurant, whether they're calling to book a table or walking through our doors. The way you greet them sets the tone for everything that follows. You'll answer phones, build and manage reservations, and shape the flow of service by setting up the books in a way that keeps the entire restaurant running smoothly from the first guest to the last.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide superior service to all guests, through close adherence to steps of service, attention to detail and personal involvement with the guest experience
- Present professionalism at all times in manor and appearance, relating to Hearth and Hill's dress and grooming standards
- Perform shift opening & closing checklist; maintain cleanliness and organization of restaurant
- Coordinate and communicate proactively with all associates
- Comprehensive knowledge of current menus and products through training opportunities for continued learning
- Detail oriented control of all procedures involving guest orders, cash procedures, POS system, guest checks and close out of shift
- Adhere to sanitation and safety policies and ensure that all service is in compliance with Utah alcohol laws
- How to set up guest profiles and input reservations into Resy
- Importance of Resy chits and the information put on there
- Clear communication with guests on our restaurant information, parking, menus, directions, allergies, etc.
- Clear product knowledge (including wine, beer, liquor, food)
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Address guest concerns or issues with professionalism and resolve them quickly.
- Answer incoming phone calls prior, during and after service.
- Taking and adjusting standard guest reservations
- Facilitate and communicate large party requests with event management
- Prepare for service by confirming reservations, adjusting reservations to optimize flow for the team, and maximize opportunities for guest volume
- Greet guests, with a warm welcome into our space
- Attend pre-service meetings, staying current with restaurant knowledge through continued training

CREDENTIAL AND EXPERIENCE
- Food Handlers Permit
- Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point of-sale system
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, lift, push & carry heavy objects
- Ability to carry 50 pounds, demonstrating single-hand tray service proficiency
