They typically work near the hotel's front entrance, so they're easily visible to guests with questions or concerns. Common duties include:
Creating and managing room reservations via the hotel's software Processing payments for rooms and amenities, such as room service, spa treatments or reservation add-ons like cable services Greeting and checking guests in Answering questions and resolving problems, such as towel refills or key card issues Collaborating with hotel staff, including housekeepers, servers and the engineering team Documenting reservations, service requests and incidents, such as elevator breakdowns Following the property's cash-handling procedures
