This role serves as the first point of contact for guests and plays a critical role in creating a welcoming, seamless, and memorable stay aligned with Sonesta Select brand standards. Key Responsibilities Guest Experience Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure, ensuring a positive first and last impression Manage check-in and check-out processes efficiently and accurately Respond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns with professionalism and empathy Anticipate guest needs and provide personalized service whenever possible Front Desk Operations Handle reservations, cancellations, and room assignments using property management systems Maintain accurate records of guest information, billing, and payment transactions Process payments, verify billing accuracy, and resolve discrepancies Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure room readiness Communication & Coordination Communicate effectively with all hotel departments to support smooth daily operations Relay important guest information and special requests to appropriate team members Assist in handling guest complaints and escalate issues when necessary Compliance & Standards Adhere to Sonesta brand standards, policies, and procedures Follow safety, security, and cash-handling protocols Ensure confidentiality of guest information
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent Previous customer service experience (hospitality preferred) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure Basic computer proficiency
Preferred:
Prior front desk or hotel experience Familiarity with hotel property management systems (e.g., Opera, OnQ, or similar) Knowledge of the Pleasant Hill / East Bay area to assist guests with recommendations Skills & Competencies Customer-focused mindset with a friendly and professional demeanor Strong problem-solving abilities Attention to detail and accuracy Team-oriented with the ability to work independently Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and handling paperwork Why Join Sonesta Select?
