GUEST SERVICE AGENT SUMMARY OF POSITION
A Guest Service Agent accommodates guests of hotel by performing front desk sales and customer service functions related to guest registration, departures and revenue collection, in a manner that will ensure our guests receive a secure place to stay with friendly, attentive service. Opera PMS experience highly preferred.
GUEST SERVICE AGENT - FRONT DESK ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Recognizes and greets the guest upon entry into the hotel lobby or on the telephone. Understand and respond to all hotel guests requests and complaints in a timely and professional manner. Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell hotel rooms, make advance reservations and solicit franchise programs and memberships. Check in hotel guests and give courtesy call backs in a timely manner (10-15 minutes). Collects revenue from hotel room rentals. Provides security for hotel guests and the property by controlling room keys, verifying cash banks, making safe drops, preparing cash reports, following credit card guidelines and reporting suspicious activity by guests or others. Completes paperwork necessary for Front Office operations; assigning rooms; completing group and VIP pre-registrations and key packets; blocking room assignments and reservations; complimentary rooms; processing adjustments and check-outs; answering telephones; handling mail and messages for guests; and transferring all necessary information at shift change. Understand all hotel information necessary, develop and maintain a working knowledge of the local area. Maintain awareness of current business level. Operates the hotel front desk equipment such as switchboard (PBX), Property Management System (PMS), fire panel, Central Reservation System (CRS), copier, calculator, safe, fax and printers. Understand hotel emergency procedures. Monitor cleanliness and appearance of the property. Maintains consistent communication with the housekeeping and engineering departments to advise of special requests and any room changes and/or conditions. Follow all regulations to safe-guard guest valuables, including promoting the use of in-room safes (if property offers them). Attend all mandatory meetings as directed. Performs all other duties as assigned by Management.
