Job Summary Provide prompt, courteous assistance to all hotel guests and efficiently manage incoming phone calls, while ensuring a high level of accuracy in all information handled or processed through the front desk. Act as the primary point of contact for guests, addressing inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and care. Represent the hotel with the level of service, appearance, and attentiveness expected from a top-tier property and a well-trained hospitality team. Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions Guest Arrivals
- Greet guests, provide property, and room information upon arrival at the hotel. Collect payment, issue hotel room key and applicable paperwork. Assist with questions, directions and suggestions for restaurants/activities and sight-seeing. Input guest information into the hotel computer system. Guest Departures
- Greet guests, collect room keys, collect payment, and input additional guest information into the hotel computer system. Reservations
- Input, modify and cancel reservations using the hotel computer system. Collect advance deposits and communicate cancellation policy with guests. Guest Service
- Assure that guest service standards are implemented, reinforced, and measured to provide the best value and guest experience to achieve customer loyalty. Answer all incoming calls and take messages as needed. Resolve guest problems and complaints as professional and efficiently as possible. Cash Handling
- Count cash drawer, collect payments via cash and credit card. Complete daily end of shift closing reports and of bank reconciliation. Room Inspection
- Assist with conducting room inspections for serviced rooms if the guest service manager or general manager is not available. Policies & Procedures
- Ensure all Castle policies and procedures are fully and equally implemented and enforced Perform other related duties as requested by management.
Qualifications Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be available to work any day of the week and shift, including evening shifts and holidays. Must be able to complete work timely and accurately with attention to detail. Perform job in a friendly, professional manner, and with the greatest amount of Aloha toward guests and fellow employees. Able to lift/carry up to 15 pounds. Education High school diploma or the equivalent is required.
Experience :
2 years of hotel front desk experience preferred. Cash handling skills required.
Knowledge :
Knowledge of the hotel hospitality and vacation rental industry. Knowledge of nearby activities and landmarks preferred.
Communication Skills :
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Reasoning Ability :
Must possess good common sense, reasoning, and judgment ability.
Technical/Computer Skills:
Must have working knowledge of basic Microsoft Word and Excel.
