ABOUT THE ROLE POAH

Communities is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as a Front Desk Attendant. Island Terrace Apartments is a 21-story, 240-unit family high rise, located two blocks south of the future site of the Obama Presidential Center, and across from beautiful Jackson Park in the Woodlawn neighborhood. It was developed in the late 1960s and owned for decades by local businessman George E. Johnson Sr, founder of the Johnson Products Company, an international cosmetics empire headquartered in Chicago.

ABOUT YOUR IMPACT

Monitor visitors at the assigned building and protect the property with the objective of minimizing risks. Maintain the visitor registry and report any known or suspected criminal activity to the police and Property Manager. Seek to prevent property damage, monitor for fire and safety issues and help emergency responders gain access to the building in the event of medical events involving residents, visitors and staff. Be punctual and not leave their work station until a relief person takes over the operation, or until a work shift ends where leaving the work station has been pre-approved by the supervisor.

ABOUT YOU 1 -2

years of experience in related field. Some post high school education preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills. Flexibility, positive attitude, team orientation and willingness to learn are a must. Strong verbal, written and customer service communication skills are essential. Computer proficiency (specifically in MS-Word, Excel and Outlook).
