  • $18 an hour 15 hours ago Qualifications Visitor query response Computer operation Answering guest questions English Computer skills Full Job Description Position Summary The Front Desk Associate serves as the first point of contact for guests.
This role is responsible for greeting and providing guests with information, answering inquiries, processing registration programs and memberships, handling cash and ensuring the facility is properly opened and closed. Essential Job Duties Develop general knowledge of Park District programs to respond to specific questions and to direct guests to the appropriate staff. Open/close the recreation center. Greet and assist guests. Process program registrations and memberships using appropriate paperwork and waivers. Answer telephone in a timely manner and provide accurate information or direct calls appropriately, taking accurate messages when necessary. Familiarity with the facility floor plan and emergency/evacuation procedures. Familiarity with the day's activities scheduled in the facility. Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately; reconcile daily cash drawers in accordance with district policies. Process/issue photo Identification cards to pass holders, members and employees. Operate office machines. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Communicate maintenance issues, repairs, and room setups. Demonstrate consistent attendance and on-time arrival. Attend all meetings when appropriate. Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of all Hoffman Estates Park District policies and guidelines. Attend required training and safety programs. Perform other duties or special projects assigned.
Days/Hours of Work:
Primary shifts will be evenings (4:30 pm
  • 9:30 pm) and weekends (6:30 am
  • 12:00 pm or 11:45 am
  • 5:30 pm) Availability to cover as a sub, as needed, Monday
  • Fridays is preferred. (6:30 am

Position Requirements Prefer High School or further Education. Previous office or customer service experience helpful but not necessary. General computer skills. Ability to assist guests diplomatically, handle conflicts appropriately and answer questions regarding Park District operations. The work week shall be designated by the Facility Manager as necessary to provide proper service and support to internal and external guests. Skills and Abilities Demonstrate consistent attendance and on-time arrival. Must be 18 years of age Ability to work with RecTrac, with training Answer District telephones to assist patrons Must be able to read, write and speak in English. CPR/AED certification or be able to earn within 60 days. Specific vision abilities are required and include close vision and ability to adjust focus. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Working Conditions Most activities will be performed indoors. Employee may be exposed to cleaning agents and toner chemicals.
