Job Description

The award-winning Essex Street Inn in downtown Newburyport is seeking a friendly and organized front desk agent to join our team! This role is responsible for managing guest check-ins and check-outs, handling inquiries, processing reservations, and addressing guest needs promptly and professionally. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the hotel's reputation for outstanding hospitality. Averaging 30 hours a week, the schedule for this position will include two afternoon shifts and three evening shifts. Weekend availability is a must.
Duties include:
Greet and welcome guests with a warm, professional demeanor, creating a positive first impression. Process guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently, verifying reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing keys. Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints courteously, resolving issues or escalating to management as needed. Manage reservations via phone, email, and online booking systems, ensuring accuracy and guest satisfaction. Provide information about hotel services, amenities, local attractions, and dining options to enhance the guest experience. Process payments, issue invoices, and maintain accurate financial records for guest transactions. Set up, maintain, and break down continental breakfast as needed. Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest requests are fulfilled promptly. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area. Assist with administrative tasks, such as updating guest records and preparing reports as directed.
