Front Desk Supervisor, Reservation Manager, Front Office Director.
Job Summary:
The Princess Royale Oceanfront Resort is seeking a part-time Front Desk Clerk/Night Auditor immediately. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual that loves to "crunch numbers" in between assisting guests and overseeing overnight operations. They will be responsible for all end-of-day (EOD) accounting functions, assisting guests, and communicating with other departments to ensure smooth operations during non-peak hours. The ideal applicant should be capable of working autonomously with no one to assist them with basic hotel functions and possess a strong background in hospitality management, customer service and basic bookkeeping.
Responsibilities:
  • Greet incoming guests with a friendly, sincere smile and positive, clear speaking voice
  • Assist guests with check in/check outs through input and retrieving of guest information using Property Management System (PMS)
  • Answer all incoming calls with a clear, friendly and professional tone using standard hotel greetings. Properly route department calls.
  • Handle cash, make change, and balance an assigned cash drawer. Accept and record credit cards, gift certificates, and other forms of payment. Perform accurate, moderately complex arithmetic functions using a calculator. Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts.
  • Inform guests about directions, parking information and any other information required for the successful check-in process.
  • Answer guest inquiries, questions, and concerns regarding the resort, amenities, and local area, providing assistance or redirecting internally as needed
  • Clear all guest service calls with proper department, contacting guest upon completion to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Field guest complaints, conducting thorough research to develop the most effective solution and resolve complications.
  • Keep front and back office areas clean Perform nightly audits of financial transactions and ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Process end-of-day activities including deposits, adjustments, no show reservations, auditing, and reporting.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports to management and accounting staff.
  • Manage all front desk activities, including greeting incoming guests, handling check in/check outs, responding and tactfully responding to guest inquiries and complaints.
  • Handle various forms of payment including cash credit cards, gift certificates, and others, performing accurate, moderately complex arithmetic functions and maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
  • Coordinate with security department to ensure overnight safety of all guests.
  • Ensure all incoming calls are answered promptly and in a courteous manner.
  • Communicates guest needs with applicable departments.
  • Uphold resort standards of professionalism and guest satisfaction.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education/Skills:
  • Experience as a front desk clerk, night auditor, or MOD
  • Proficiency in end-of-day hotel audit procedures and reporting.
  • Knowledge of the local area (Ocean City, Berlin, Fenwick Island, etc.).
  • Ability to work evening and overnight shifts.
  • Able to exude strong customer service skills in-person and over-the-phone.
  • Proficiency in basic bookkeeping, financial accounting practices, and arithmetic functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Work Environment:
  • Predominantly indoors, with long periods of standing and at times walking and lifting of items up to 20 lbs.
  • Evening and Overnight shifts
