Job Description
About the role At Zelda Dearest, the front desk isn't just a check-in counter — it's where the guest experience begins. We're a boutique hotel that believes in warmth over scripts, personality over procedure, and genuine connection over transactional hospitality. Our guests choose us because they want something different, and it's our front desk team that sets that tone from the very first hello. We're looking for a part-time front desk agent with weekend availability who is equal parts polished and personable — someone who can make every guest feel like they're the only one in the room. What you'll do Welcome arriving guests with warmth and intention — set the tone for a stay they'll remember Manage check-ins, check-outs, and reservations with accuracy and care Anticipate guest needs before they're asked — that's the boutique difference Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and occasional concerns with grace and follow-through Share genuine local knowledge about Asheville — restaurants, trails, hidden gems, and all Coordinate with housekeeping, F&B, and other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences Process payments, manage cash handling, and maintain accurate front desk records Maintain the lobby and front desk area as a calm, polished, welcoming space Answer phones and respond to digital inquiries in the Zelda voice — attentive and unhurried Qualifications What you bring A warm, confident, and naturally hospitable personality Previous front desk, guest services, or hospitality experience preferred Strong communication skills — written and verbal Comfort with hotel PMS systems or ability to learn quickly Weekend availability — Saturdays and Sundays are our busiest days A calm head and a problem-solving mindset when things get busy Bonus points Experience in boutique, lifestyle, or independent hotel settings A genuine love for Asheville and its culture Bilingual or multilingual communication skills An eye for detail and a high standard for the guest environment Why Zelda Dearest Be part of a hotel that guests seek out specifically — our reviews speak for themselves Work in a curated, design-forward environment that makes coming to work actually enjoyable A small, close-knit team where your contributions are seen and appreciated — no lost-in-the-crowd culture here Grow your hospitality career with Driftwood Hospitality Management across a collection of unique properties Be immersed in Asheville's thriving hospitality and arts scene — a city that inspires Part-time hours with meaningful work — ideal for those balancing school, creative pursuits, or other passions Benefits 401(k) Disability insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off
