Job Description

Reikart House Hotel is forming a team of creative individuals who are driven and committed to their craft. We are looking for a Butler to join our Award-Winning Team! General Purpose Provide information about the hotel and the city to guests and serve their immediate needs as thoroughly as possible. Essential Duties Greets and completes established check-in procedures for arriving guests on a daily basis in order to ensure guests are satisfied and in rooms as requested. Facilitates guest departure (check-out) daily by following established computer procedures to close guest accounts and open the room for the next sale. Regularly calculates and/or posts monies, receipts, guest accounts, and other forms of credit using accurate, proper cash handling methods and established procedures in order to present the customer with timely and precise hotel charges upon check-out and maintain accurate hotel records. Courteously answers inquiries and accepts reservations, both in person and by telephone, by accurately communicating hotel rates and information and by using suggestive selling techniques to sell room nights, increase occupancy and revenue. Maintains good customer relations by keeping abreast of all in-house and area functions in order to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses, in person and on the telephone. Controls cash transactions at the front desk and is fully responsible for the personal bank account as specified by the hotel bank agreement policy. Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times. Performs other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management. Requirements Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions, work on more than one task at a time, and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing. Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations. Must be highly organized and able to pay attention to minute written and verbal details, particularly when performing multiple tasks.' '

  • 7 am, plus weekends Abilities The candidate must possess strong interpersonal relationship skills and be able to maintain excellent professional presentation and grooming.
He or she must also possess strong reading and writing skills. The use of the computer, including Microsoft Office products, PMS system, and CRM system will be necessary. Prior knowledge of these systems is not necessary, but a definite plus. A minimum of two years of prior experience in related hospitality fields is required, and formal butler training is highly regarded. All standard work cards are required Demonstrate an ability to operate seamlessly with all departments and work well as a team member within the department. Demonstrate an ability to understand guests' service needs and continue to interact with aplomb, even with guests displaying high expectations. Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy. Maintain database of guest preferences, habits, and special dates for your guest. Conduct oneself in a discreet manner when in guest areas. Be able to participate proficiently in functions outside ones department when called upon. Preparation of luxury bath. Other duties as required. Lifting of food and beverages on and off carts 15% of time, 20 lb. maximum. Pushing/pulling small cart. Bending and possibly kneeling required Mobility
  • able to move food and beverages from kitchen up to Concierge Lounge in the elevator (round trip). Continuous standing and walking throughout shift
