Built in 1925 as the city's most elegant apartment hotel, The Ritz Tower today remains one of Manhattan's most luxurious and sought-after residential cooperatives noted for its spacious and elegant apartments, each one unique. We are looking for a flexible Front Desk Agent/Concierge. (Management position) The Front Desk is a full service center dedicated to provide the shareholders and their visitors with the kind of personal attention for which The Ritz Tower is known. Often, the Front Desk is the first place that a resident of The Ritz will call to request information or assistance and the Front Desk Concierge is expected to respond effectively, efficiently and politely to residents' requests and to direct the requests to the appropriate individual in the building. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Sorting mail
  • Answering telephones
  • Posting charges
  • Handling cash
  • Supervising staff
  • Resolving problems and resident/guest complaints by taking adequate, prompt and corrective action therefore guaranteeing immediate and best satisfaction. Scope of this Position
  • Ideal candidate will possess previous customer service experience in hotels or related industry, supervisory experience preferred, college graduate preferred.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills, be able to handle multiple tasks, flexible schedule, and be detailed oriented.
  • Position will be responsible for supervising/managing/overseeing the following departments primarily: Front Desk and Front Service.
  • In preparing for this position, candidate ideally will have worked in at least the following departments or positions: Customer Service/Supervisor
  • Requires a minimum of 1 year(s) of experience.
  • This position reports to: Managing Director
  • Position will be required to work a varied schedule that includes evenings, nights, over nights and week-ends.
Requirements:
  • Previous Hotel/Residential Cooperative/Customer Service experience for at least on year.
  • Must feel confident in delegating and managing a staff, as well as guest/resident relations.
  • Foreign language skills a plus.
  • Must have excellent communication skills with warm personality.
  • Must be responsible and willing to accept liability for a $3,500.00 bank or more.
  • Must have a neat appearance and be willing to conform to The Ritz Tower's standards.
  • Must be flexible and have a lot of enthusiasm.
  • Must enjoy working with people and serving them.
Technical Requirements:
  • Work closely with Housekeeping, Engineering, Accounting, and Room Service to ensure resident/shareholder satisfaction.
Managerial Requirements:
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
Business Skills:
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Good knowledge of computers.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Resolve problems.
  • Assume responsibility/accountability.
Educational Requirements:
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • College degree or equivalent
