Part-time Museum Guest Service Associate

Job Description for Guest Service Associate July 2, 2026 Museum Hours Tuesday-Saturday 10a-4p •Saturdays only• To perform all duties in a friendly and professional manner that reflects well on The Museum, Heisey Collectors of America and your fellow team members. 1.

Perform docent duties:

open door and greet guests, answer questions about the museum and history or direct to someone who can, conduct tours as needed, and promote membership and volunteer opportunities. A knowledge of Heisey Glass History and of the Heisey Glass Collectors of America is not necessary and will be included with on the job training. 2. Input membership data into the computer with accuracy and attention to detail; prepare and send renewal letters, membership cards and donation letters, as needed. Computer skills in Word, Excel and/or Publisher preferred. Desktop publishing skills are a plus. 3. Answer the phone in a friendly and professional manner and direct calls that you cannot take care of yourself to the proper person. Accurately take messages and record pertinent information in writing. 4.

Museum Shop duties:

A. Clean all merchandise & shelves, coordinate displays of merchandise. B. Answer guest/member questions, enter sales into point of sale, perform cash handling and balancing functions, accurately take phone orders and package/wrap items. C. Mark items for sale, stock & maintain appropriate back stock inventory in an orderly fashion, and keep the work and display areas neat and clean as directed. 5. Assist with any and all packing and shipping. 6. General, light cleaning and trash removal as needed between cleaning staff days. 7. Saturday availability needed, additional hours may be available not to exceed 20 hours per week on a regular basis. May include; support hours, weekend hours, extended and off site hours during special events, such as convention or auctions, and may include overtime. Pay is at an hourly rate. Overtime will be paid for hours that accumulate over 40 hours per week ( i.e. Convention). 8. The Guest Associate will be expected to work in and maintain a positive office/museum/ shop atmosphere, and must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. 9. Additional duties as requested.
