Job Description

Locally-owned dental practice has a M-Th(Monday through Thursday)RDA opening. The office focuses on sedation and same day dentistry. We have an in house milling machine and ceramics lab. We can do same day bridges and veneers. Any experience with Exocad is a huge plus, but not required. We are a mainly PPO office. We use Open Dental for our practice management software. We use the Medit i600 for scanning, and use Exocad for tooth, bridge and implant abutment design. Hours are from 7:45-5:00 (Morning Huddle is at 7:45) Responsibilities Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols. Front desk experience with entering new patient information, insurance, treatment planning and dental insurance is required. Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient. Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests. Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments. Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth. Provides diagnostic information by exposing radiographs; taking diagnostic impressions; pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts. Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions. Documents dental care services by charting in patient records. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and being cross-trained. Skills and Qualifications Use of dental technology (digital radiographs, digital impression scanning. etc.) Dental health maintenance Administration of topical anesthesia Administration and/or monitoring nitrous oxide Infection control Exceptional bedside manner Listening Teamwork Thoroughness Self-Development Insurance/Dental Front Desk Skills Minimum Education and Experience Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification is required 1+ years of experience as a Dental Assistant preferred Dental Front Desk experience required. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Experience with Open Dental or similar dental software is preferred but not required Attention to detail. Well-organized, reliable and articulate. Current TN RDA certification is a must. Additional certification or training is a plus (e.g. EFDA)
