Job Description

If you are looking for a hotel position where you stand at a terminal and repeat robotic statements, this may not be the property for you. We are a property with a dynamic, diverse team of individuals who know how to have fun at work, except for the Assistant General Manager , he's a robot, we think he just powers down in the back office at night. Our Front Desk/Guest Services team is vital to the success of our property! We are looking for candidates who work well with others and enjoy customer interaction to join our team! We promote a fun and professional working environment and need Team Players who know how to have fun , while maintaining a professional and inclusive environment. You will typically work in a team of 3-8 people at the front desk. A few quotes from our recent guests: "The Belltown Inn is a wonderful hotel and scores 5 stars in amazing service. " We look for flexibility when it comes to scheduling, and pride ourselves in our ability to work with our team to account for the dynamics of their life circumstances. Start time ranges from 6 am to 8 am for morning shifts, from 2 pm to 4 pm for evening shifts, while overnight shifts begin at 10 pm. Morning and evening shifts are 8 hours in length, while overnight shifts are 10 hours. The Front Desk/Guest Services Representative is the Inn's best asset to create a positive experience for our guests. Hotel experience is not necessary, but a desire to help is. If you enjoy interacting with people, have a strong sense of responsibility, and can do it all while having fun, we want to meet with you!
THE WAYS YOU WILL CREATE A POSITIVE GUEST EXPERIENCE
Greet and welcome guests upon arrival. Register guests into the computer, verify reservation and credit information. Adhere to hotel policy regarding guest Safety & Security. Promptly respond to and resolve guest complaints with professionalism, tact, and diplomacy. Answer the telephone promptly and properly with a friendly, thoughtful approach. Be friendly, thorough, accurate, and efficient in taking reservations, during check-in and check-out. Assist guests with luggage. Check registration cards for completeness, accuracy, and legibility. Review incoming reservations for accuracy. Maintain standards of personal appearance in compliance with the dress code. Be knowledgeable and helpful about the local area, the hotel, and its services. Handle packages, wake-up calls, mail, and faxes properly. Maintain communications with each department, communicating important information. Maintain effective communication through the use of emails, messaging apps, and logs. Seek and react to opportunities to sell rooms or offer amenities. Have complete knowledge of hotel rooms, function space, and services. Have a full understanding of amenities and offerings.
Verify all information on reservations:
name, phone number, email, method of payment, etc. Follow hotel policy for required documentation for guests. Adhere to hotel policies regarding the use of cash handling and drops. Stay current with developments in the hotel. Review and update shift logs. Maintain a clean and organized office space. Report potential sales opportunities to management. Work cooperatively with all hotel staff Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process. Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must possess basic computational ability. Must possess basic computer skills. Must be able to convey extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services, and facilities; general knowledge of Seattle, the Belltown Neighborhood, and its attractions. Must be able to stand for up to 5 hours in length. Well-paced mobility. The length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. Must be able to move items up to 50 lbs Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs without assistance. Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Ability to move throughout the hotel property Ability to communicate clearly and consistently with guests, supervisors, and team members. Ability to spend extended lengths of time viewing a computer screen. Requires ability to use and operate all necessary equipment.
